LUCIANO lives and works on the lands of the Boonwurrung people of the Kulin nation and acknowledges them as the Traditional custodians of the land, paying respects to their Elders, past and present.

LUCIANO is a queer multidisciplinary artist that works with diverse communities to record and share their stories in accessible ways. His arts practice focuses on undoing the ongoing silencing of marginalised communities and utilising the privileges he experiences to amplify the voices of others through education, creation and storytelling.

LUCIANO has a deep interest in the embedded history of found, recycled and passed down materials as well as the interwoven relationship between society and fibre. He seeks to intertwine the stories, symbolism, and memories of pre-loved textiles into new forms, building on the layers of existing materiality. Through the fusion of handcraft techniques and new media, LUCIANO seeks to utilise the comfortable, existing relationship contemporary society has with textiles to lead audiences into new digital environments.

Accessibility is at the core of LUCIANO’s practice, he endeavours to create multi-modal experiences that diverse audiences can engage with. Through the integration of video and new media within traditional works, LUCIANO brings the works to life, enabling interactivity and accessibility to all.

LUCIANO is working on the community arts project "Queer-ways" in collaboration with George Keats and is supported by the Australian Queer Archive.
